To Kill A Mockingbird

Reluctantly agreeing, Carlos stood up silently not even glancing at the older silver haired man.

Five minutes later the man walked back to them and explained they ought to leave soon before the owner found out what he'd done.

"...Right." Carlos sighed, how did he know he could trust him when he couldn't even trust a member of Skye's own family?

"He... was parent friend..." Skye tried his hardest to explain.

"And how do you know that?" Carlos asked rather agitatedly.

Skye could tell that Carlos, for some reason, didn't trust the man. He sighed and tugged on his sleeve.
"He ok..."

Something at the back of the dark haired males mind told him not to trust him, despite the fact that the red head clearly did trust him.

"I'll explain when we're out of earshot of a certain person" He said rather shortly "I just need to sign some forms and I will be back"
The man walked away leaving the two alone again.

Carlos almost seemed to glare at the man. "...Who are you?"

For a first time in what seemed like forever the red head was actually smiling. He nodded at the older man. A very small smile flickered across the older males lips before he stood up, expression sobering within seconds.

Reluctantly nodding in understanding, Carlos glanced at Skye. Something about this new man made Carlos suspicious of his intentions.

The man looked Carlos up and down before carrying on.
"You'll both be staying with me, as from today"

The older child merely watched the silver haired man. "Umm... Okay?" He was completely unsure as to what was going on and who this new person was.

The man sat at the table they were at.
"I've been looking for two of you for a while" He began, the mans voice sounded very similar to Leiard's, husky but this time it was a kind voice, harsh but kind "You've caused me alot of hassle"

"Hmm?" Carlos noticed the young red head look up and followed his gaze. His eyes eventually fell upon the silver haired male.

The young boy had barely spoken a word since they'd arrived. Looking up he blinked, he actually recognised one of the vistors. The man was tall, well dressed, short silver hair and red eyes.
It wasn't long before the strangely good-looking male made his way over to the two of them.

Carlos hadn't noticed the strange visitors, he continued to sit with Skye instead of anyone his own age. Clearly, he was concerned about leaving Skye alone.

Months passed, and things gradually became better for the two of them. it wasn't long before there was a strange visitor to the orphange.

Deciding not to press the child further on the subject, the older boy merely sighed and scratched at his head.

Skye sighed and fell silent, there was no-way he'd be able to explain.

"... And why is that a bad thing?" Carlos continued to question the boy further, unsure of what the problem was.

"Lady who owns place..."

"Hrmm?... What woman?" Carlos asked quietly, trying not to make it obvious as he looked around.

The red head hugged Carlos and whispered an explanation.
"... that... woman... she... brothers.. fiancee...."

He stared at his friend for a few moments before sighing and putting one arm around him, trying to comfort him a brotherly kind of way.
