Jurassic Hijinks

Vincent merely smiled at his younger brother in an attempt to see him smile.

Sighing he nodded and looked up from the floor.

Smiling slightly, Vincent explained that everyone has got through it.
"You just need to get through it now."

Hearing the agitation in his brothers voice Kyle apologised instantly, looking up at Vincent he told him how he'd been struggling ever since his wife and son died, how he'd never spoken to anyone, just kept on going as if nothing had happened.
"I was too busy supporting other people to think about myself" tears trickled down his cheeks "I wanted to make sure everyone else was ok.. I wanted everyone else to pull through..."

Vincent sighed again, getting slightly agitated with his younger brother.
"Sorry for trying to help.." He muttered and looked away.

"He's asleep Vincent.. it wouldn't make any difference..." Kyle stared at the floor sadly.

Sighing, Vincent told him it might make him feel better.

The red head lay asleep on the bed. Bandages covered his chest where the beast had clawed it open and his foot was set in a cast.
Kyle looked up and then looked down again shaking his head.

Following his younger brother, he took one glance at Skye before looking at Kyle.
"Why don't you talk to him?"

Kyle walked into the room that the nurse indicated to them. His fists clenched slightly, still concerned about his son even after what the nurse had said.

Vincent heaved and sigh and removed his arm from around his brother, not liking the fact that he had changed so much.

Kyle let out of a sigh of reliefe and nodded "I guess..."

"See? He's fine." Vincent said reassuringly as he looked at his younger brother. "You know your sons a fighter anyway."

Looking back at the two males the nurse smiled slightly.
"If you're worried he's in a stable state, he'll have to stay in for a couple of days and be on bed rest for at least 3 weeks but he'll pull through"

His smile turned to a frown as his brother didn't look up at him, Sighing he wrapped his arm around his brother trying to reassure him.

Kyle couldn't look up from the floor, he was too scared of what he might see.

Vincent walked at the same pace as Kyle and placed his hand silently on his brothers shoulder and smiled slightly at him.

After a couple of minutes the two were following a nurse who was leading them towards Kyle's sons room.

Sighing calmly, Vincent followed his younger brother ready to give him comfort if need be.

Kyle clambered out shortly after Vincent. Looking up at the large imposing building that was the city hospital he sighed and walked in, hands stuffed in his pockets.

The brother stayed silently for a majority of the journey, stopping outside the hospital Vincent climbed out of the car and waited for his brother.

Sighing the younger brother nodded.

"You can't protect him from everything." Vincent said calmly as he began to drive, knowing that what he said also applied to him for his own son.

Sitting in the car Kyle looked down at his feet.
"Am I that bad a father that I can't protect my son..."

Helping his brother stand he led him out to his car. He opened the door and gently helped Kyle inside before climbing in on the drivers side himself and starting the engine.
