To Kill A Mockingbird

Despite the fact that Carlos was worried about his friend, he saw no reason for the head master to call him into his office. Why could he just call their home and ask them why he's not in? Why did he assume that the dark haired boy knew anything about it? Grumbling slightly, he sat down in the chair opposite the head master and crossed his arms awaiting some form of ranting.

A few days passed. Everything went on as normal, apart from the young boy didn't attend school. The head master called Carlos into his office to ask him some questions.

As the door shut behind the black haired male Skye sighed, slumping down against a wall and holding his head in his hands he cried.

Noticing no form of resistance, he took it as a sign he was no longer wanted there. "Well... See ya." He mumbled as he walked out of the front door, still unaware of anything that Leiard had done.

Skye didn't stop him, the last thing he wanted was Carlos to get into harms way more than he already was.

Carlos glanced back at his red head friend and raised an eyebrow. "I may as well go home, then." He said simply before making his way to the front door.

"D-Don't... go down..." Skye looked up at Carlos.
It was clear Leiard was angry, and the red head knew if anyone inturupted him he'd really loose his temper.

Blinking in confusion, Carlos looked away for a moment. "Alright..." He muttered with a shrug before heading back to Leiard's lab.

Skye flinched and pulled away from Carlos.

Raising an eyebrow, Carlos put his hands on Skye's shoulders. "C'mon... You gotta tell me."

The young boy just shook his head and avoided looking Carlos in the eyes.

Carlos was now completely confused, but instead of going with Leiard to continue watching him work he decided to stay with Skye. Walking over to him, he knelt down slightly and asked what had happened.

Leiard gave Skye one last telling off before storming off down to his lab and slamming the door, making the red head flinch.

Looking at Skye, he decided not to make a big deal of it in front of Leiard.

"Because he went into my lab, and he knows not to do that without my being there"
Skye looked down at the floor silently.

Glancing at Skye, and then back at Leiard. He asked; "Then why were you yelling at him?"

Skye looked up suddenly at Carlos. His eyes were full of pain and sadness.
"It's nothing, he just got into a little accident is all" Leiard smiled plainly.

Carlos decided to interrupt. "What's going on?"

The red head looked worse of than before, if that was possible. His head was now bandaged and stained slightly with red.
He was clearly in alot of pain, which could've been seen by simply the way he walked.
His older brother was shouting at him angrily, clearly not happy with something the younger one had done.

As Carlos heard the voices, he began to make his way downstairs silently to get a better look at what was going on on and what had happened to Skye.

After a few hours the door opened and shut downstairs. Footsteps could be heard as well as a harsh voice speaking in a forgein language.

Blinking through confusion as he read the note, he placed it back down and began to wonder what could have happened. Shrugging it off, he stood up and paced around the room.

Glancing down next to his bed, his eyes stopped as he saw the note. Lifting it and holding it close to his eyes, he squinted and began to read.
