Zombies Unleashed

A smile spread on Vincent's face as he began to chuckle slightly. "You think speaking fast will stop me from understanding what you said?" He asked. "If you're worried, keep an eye on him."

" Carloshassomeratherdeepscratchesonhisarmfromwherethezombiesdugtheirnailsin....." Skye said quickly.

Vincent crossed his arms and scratched the fluffy beard on his chin. "Tell anyone what, exactly?"

"Carlos doesn't want me to tell anyone..."

Standing next to him, he looked at him with a look of concern. "You can tell me anything, you know that." He said as if Skye were his own son. "If somethings wrong... You can say so."

He didn't speak, or even show any form of acknowledgement.

Vincent sensed something was wrong and frowned. He followed the red head. "Come on. Don't lie."

Skye nodded without looking up and walked out of the house quietly.

Letting out a deep sigh, Carlos lay back down on the sofa and closed his eyes tightly determined to get some rest.

The dark haired boy father saw the red head exit the room, walking over to him he asked if everything was okay.

Skye looked down at the floor. He hadn't meant to annoy Carlos. The red head walked out of the room with his hands in his pockets staring down at the floor.

"Look. It's fine. It's no different from any other injury." He said, getting rather annoyed of Skye's persistant pestering. "Tell him if you want, but I'm telling you there's nothing to worry about."

"W-w-well.. you're dad then?" he wasn't about to drop the subject.

"You really think I want my mum worrying any more than she already is?" He asked with a raised eyebrow as he pulled his sleeve back down.

The boy was clearly concerned.
"Shouldn't someone check it..."

Glancing at the red head, he sighed deeply. "It's not a bite. I'll be fine." He said agitatedly, thought truth be told; he didn't even know if he'd be okay.

Skye's eyes widened as he saw them.
"C-Carlos..."

Rolling up his sleeve, clearly tired of being pestered, there were deep cuts in his wrist in the shape of fingernails. "Those zombies have got tight grips." He said absent mindedly.

"It doesn't look like nothing..." he trailed off clearly scared that Carlos would shout at him.

Carlos shook his head and smiled. "It's nothing." He said as he flexed his hand.

The younger of the two tilted his head noticing Carlos' movments.
"Is something wrong?"

Carlos continued; "I'm glad you didn't. We'd have both been dead." He was clearly quite agitated. He was gripping his wrist tightly.

Skye looked down at the floor, to tell the truth the thought hadn't even crossed his mind and that made him feel guilty.

His smile seemed to spread slightly as he spoke. "To be honest... I wasn't expecting you to listen. I'd thought you'd be reckless and try to help me yourself."

"Well.. yeah..." Skye looked at him "What else would I do? I couldn't just leave you there...."

Everyone did as they were told instantly, aside from his mother who rushed over to him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. Sitting up slightly shakily, he glanced over at the red head and smiled weakly at him. "You listened to me."
