Something just went wrong...

From the outside the building looked like your average well off bachelor pad, well more like a penthouse to tell the truth but not let’s get into small little details.
The only strange thing about the house was that small explosions could be heard from the inside, night and day. The neighbours had become used to these regular bangs that disturbed the quiet of the neighbourhood. The man who owned the house was a scientist, one of the highest regard in the city. People knew he took commissions from all sorts, once his next door neighbour, Mrs Henley could have sworn she’d seen government officials arrive outside of his house in the middle of the day.
This man was rarely seen by anyone other than those who went to him for these commissions. Clearly he wasn’t a people person by the way he ignored anyone who tried to talk to him.

He wasn’t the tallest of people, neither was he short, roughly the average height for a man of his age, 5’6” or so. His hair pitch black apart from when the sun, or moons, light shone on it, when that happened his hair seemed to have a blue glow. His eyes though were what were most unsettling about him, they were ruby red and this contrasted greatly against his pale, porcelain like skin. Most of the neighbourhood thought he wore contacts just to add the extra mystique about himself, others spread rumours about an accident he’d had in his old lab no-one knew the honest truth though and the man wasn’t all that keen on telling anyone.

It was one night, late February, that the real commotion began.

The man was in his lab, working, as he normally was, tiredness slowly starting to creep up on him, he rubbed his eyes and tried to stay awake. Mumbling to himself as he wrote notes down on his pad, most people now-a-days would’ve used a Biro of some sorts but this man sat with his quill and ink and wrote with the most old fashioned writing around.
Eyelids drooping eventually he gave into the darkness that was slowly drowning his mind and fell asleep at his desk.
