To Kill A Mockingbird

Carlos nodded in understandng. "It's okay..." He said with a faint smile.

"Sorry... last night.." The red head did his best to express how sorry he was about the incident that happened last night but didn't have a good enough understanding of the English language to say it correctly.

Carlos smile slightly in response. "Mornin'..."

"Morning" The boy said with a small smile.

Hearing the red head walk into the room, Carlos rose his head and looked at the red head. "Hmm?"

Skye walked into the room cautiously and looked at Carlos.

Carlos continued to stare at the floor, still pondering about what was happening.

As Skye made his way back down to where he'd last seen Carlos he looked around.

Carlos' heart sank as he remembered what had happened the night before; at least he had gotten Skye home safely. Heaving a sigh, he sat on the floor and stared at it, he began to wonder why all of this was happening now.

As the green haired male stirred Veltan remained asleep, suffering from blood loss.

As the sun rose, bringing with it the morning. Carlos yawned and stretched as he slid off the chair.

Un-buttoning his shirt Veltan looked at all the wounds he'd received. Sighing he shuts his eyes and slowly began to fall asleep.

The boy rolled about in the chair, continuing to mumble and grumble in a restless sleep.

Noticing Carlos Veltan heaved a sigh of reliefe that the boy was asleep.

The dark haired boy didn't hear the man enter the house, he was curled up asleep on the large chair that he had sat down in earlier.

Several hours later the silver haired man returned, looking worse than he had done before going out. Making his way into one of the many living rooms he slumped down and shut his eyes, in too much pain to do much else.

Slumping down in a large arm chair. Carlos sighed and stared at his feet.

Skye wished the water would run faster than it was.

Rubbing his arm rather awkwardly, he decided to leave Skye be and made his way into Veltan's study.

Skye ran into the bathroom and slammed the door shut behind him. Quickly he began to run to a bath. Now was the time to panic, scales were starting to grow on him arms.

Blinking in confusion as the blur flew past him, Carlos merely stared as the child ran. Completely bemused by the events, Carlos closed the door and sighed.

The door swung open with ease but before the older boy could even think about moving there was a flash on ginger as Skye ran in as fast as he could and up the stairs.

No more than thirty minutes passed before the two found themselves outside Veltan's home, looking at the door Carlos pondered on wether it was locked. Reaching for the handle, he tried to open it.

The young boy was getting drenched by now, biting his lip he ran as fast as he could, hoping to get back to Veltans in time so he could lock himself away.

Skidding to a halt, Carlos turned to see Skye on the ground in a puddle. Heaving a sigh, he hurried back to his friend and lifted him up. Holding onto the red head's wrist, he continued running.
