A father and his son

"It is if you think about it." Carlos said with a smile.

Grumbling the young Skye crossed his arms. "I'm 8, that's not THAT young..."

"You're not a teenager, in fact you're not even into double digits yet." Carlos said simply with a smile on his face.

Skye grumbled and crossed his arms huffily.
"I'm not THAT young!"

"It's just... Adult things." Carlos said with a slight smile.

"Right..." The red head felt disapointed, he thought his father didn't trust him enough to tell him.

"Nothing important." The older male lied and smiled at his child.

"About?" Skye asked as he sat down with the cup in his hand.

There was a long pause before Carlos shook his head. "I'm just thinking."

"Are you sure nothings bothering you..." Skye asked as he stood and watched Carlos think. "I mean... it looks like something is..."

Carlos was now sat back down on the sofa, his eyes staring at the floor as he continued thinking.

Skye walked back into the room drinking the water, being very careful not to fall over.

The smile on the dark haired males face soon faded as he began to think once again. Should he tell Skye the truth? He could think of many reasons why he should, but many more of why he shouldn't.

Going onto his tip toes Skye reached up and opened a cupboard. Taking a glass from it he walked over the tap and turned it on. He still couldn't understand how the water in the house didn't affect him whilst water from anywhere else did.

Carlos continued to chuckle as he watched the red head boy skulk away into the kitchen.

Mumbling his thanks under his breath the red head dusted himself down, ignoring the fact that his leg now hurt more than it had done before.
Clearly embaressed about making a fool of himself he walked into the kitching muttering that he was getting a drink.

The older male couldn't help but smile and chuckle at the red head, standing up he helped the child up off the floor.

"... ok?" He shrugged and tried to stand up but forgot he'd been sat cross legged and fell off of the sofa and onto the floor in an awkward position.
".... ow...."

Shaking his head, Carlos told his 'son' that it was nothing to worry about.

Looking up at his adopted father he asked what he'd been thinking about.

Shaking his head, Carlos' patted Skye gently on the back and smiled. "No, you didn't disturb me. I was just thinking."

"Something wrong?" He asked, noticing the fact that the other male had jumped "Sorry.. did I disturb you? I didn't mean to..."
Skye started down at the floor feeling rather guilty.

Jumping slightly at the sound of his sons voice, Carlos looked at him and a small smile formed on his face. "Hi."

Noticing Carlos he walked over to him.
"Hey" He smiled and sat down next to him on the sofa, crossing his legs as he spoke.

The boys so called father was still sat on the sofa, his eyes focused on nothing as he continued to think.
