To Kill A Mockingbird

Skye merely shook his head and hid his face.

The woman meanwhile smirked slightly as she watched the two of them.

Carlos couldn't help but smile. "C'mon... You can tell me."

Skye merely shrugged, he didn't know how to express himself.

"Hey..." Carlos said, voice filled with concern. "What's wrong?"

The young boy just ignored Carlos still, huddling up and keeping himself silent.

The dark haired male hadn't noticed the woman watching them, his attention was fixed upon the red head as he tried to make him talk to him.

The woman had been watching the two of them closely during this time.

The teenager worried about his red head friend and spent most of his time with him.

Months passed and as they did the red head rarely left the dorm he slept in. Almost all day every day he would stay curled up in bed.

The older boy sighed, and stayed by the red head so he wasn't alone.

No form of reply came to Carlos' words. It was almost as if the small boy had blocked everything anyone said out. He'd rather be back with Leiard than here.

The teenager sighed. "I'm only trying to help, you know."

Skye just looked away again, not saying a word.

"You okay?" Carlos asked quietly, concern filling his voice.

He looked blankly up at Carlos.
"...?"

Carlos sat with the red head child and nudged him gently. "Hey?"

He didn't even seem to acknowledge Carlos' existance.
The other occupants could see this and wondered why Carlos put up with the red had.

Carlos tried his best to keep the red head occupied and happy, though he knew everything he was doing had no effect on the boy.

The small boy hadn't spoken since the first day, half the time he just hid away from everyone. He hated it there, his confidence had hit rock bottom completely.

Carlos had developed a hatred for most of the other kids there as he defended the red head so often, if any of them dared to come near him or Skye he would shoot them an evil glare.

Days passed as they stayed in the Orphange, the woman stayed seemingly kind. If only the same could be said for the rest of the residents.

The dark haired teenager kept the red head closed and continued to try and comfort him.

"I-I really don't like it here..." The red head whimpered as he clung to Carlos.

Without saying another word, Carlos began to walk away with an arm around Skye trying to reassure him that everything was alright.

By now Skye was clinging tightly the Carlos shirt and hiding his face in it.
The woman sighed "FINE"
