Zombies Unleashed

Patting Skye on the shoulder, Vincent smiled. "You're a nice lad. Shame there can't be others like you."

Sighing the red head nodded, he didn't want to be in the way any longer than he already had been.
His older brother had beaten it into him that he was never going to be any good at anything other than being a nusance and that was all he could really remember ever being told.
His fringe flopped in front of his face, which he was greatful for seeing as he was about to cry.

Noticing the wince, Vincent decided to not make it a big deal. "Stay for tonight. When Carlos goes out on his patrol tomorrow, you can decide wether tp stay or go. Fair?"

The small boy merely shrugged, wincing as he did so.

Frowning slightly, the man pushed up his glasses. "I understand if you don't want to stay, but it's dangerous out there. Especially when you're on your own."

Skye shook his head.
"I can't stay..." tries to think of an excuse "because... it's..." sighs and gives on finding one.

That single word seemed to confuse Vincent. "But what?" He asked curiously.

Skye looks up at Vincent.
"...but..."

Standing tall the older man placed a hand on Skye's shoulder reassuringly. "You wont. You could stay here and help us or go and help Carlos."

Skye sighed and looked down at the floor shaking his head.
".. I'd get in the way..."

Vincent continued to smile at the boy. "I heard you talking about your family. You're always welcome to stay here."

Skye now felt very guilty about trying to and wanting to leave.
"He told me what happened...." Skye said "... he's lucky his brother is nice..."

Still smiling, Vincent could sense the teenagers nervousness. "There's no need to be so nervous." He said comfortingly, before continuing with what he was going to say. "Carlos has just been wanting someone to stick around with since his brother die... Disappeared." He said. It was clear the father hadn't given up on finding his oldest son.

Skye looked down to the floor. He didn't really know how to speak to adults.
"... there's almost nothing out there.." he said rubbing his bad arm nervously "a-and... I don't know why he'd h-h-have done that..."

Smiling, Vincent agreed that he couldn't sleep. Quickly, he changed the subject. "I was quite amazed to find that my boy had brought someone back. Usually don't find many people out there, and he seems to have grown quite attached to you."

Having not expected anyone to be awake he jumped and looked at Vincent before nodding slowly.

Vincent was sat downstairs, sat in a rather comfortable looking chair reading a book quietly. Noticing that someone had began walking down the stairs, glancing up from his book at the stair case he smiled at the sight of the red head. "Can't sleep?" He asked, as he closed his book and set it down beside him.

Hearing that the red head stood up and streched, wincing as his arm started to hurt.
Quietly he made his way back down the stairs and towards the door that led outside.

It wasn't long before the dark haired male had dozed off. Ocassionally he would snore rather loudly and the sound of him rolling around in bed was a little more than obvious.

Skye followed the directions Carlos had given him to his room. Sighing he sat down.

Carlos was sat in a rather small room, no personal objects scattered anywhere. All that was in the room was a bed which he lay on with his legs hanging off the end. He stared at the ceiling blank, clearly in thought of something though quite what he was thinking of was hard to tell.

Skye nodded and got up and walked up the stairs obidiently with his hands in his pockets. It was clear he struggled being around people and that he hadn't had an easy time, not only the past two years but before that as well.

The dark haired males father, Vincent, glanced at the red head. "There's nothing to stay up for. I suggest you get some sleep if you plan on leaving tomorrow. You'll need all the energy you can get."

The younger of the two stayed sitting, he had no idea what-so-ever what to do. He hadn't really slept in a year because of the zombies.

Pushing himself up once again, still careful not to lean any weight onto his bad leg. He announced he was heading to bed and wished everyone a good night before retreating upstairs.
