To Kill A Mockingbird

"I'm fine." He replied quickly, returning to gazing out of the window.

"Are you sure? ... You seem very.. quiet?"

Blinking himself out of the trance, he glanced at the adult and shook his head.

"Is something wrong?"

As the car cruised around, the young boy stared out of the window vacantly.

Leiard clambered in and turnd the engine on before driving off.

Smiling slightly more confidently at the adult, the boy climbed into the back of the car and sat down.

Ruffling the boys hair he opened a car door to let the younger boy in.

Smiling weakly at the adult, the boys trust in him seemed to rise.

Leiard gave Carlos' shoulder a comforting squeeze.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there to help...."

Carlos seemed to think that just because the older male had asked what had happened, he had nothing to do with the events. Carlos began to explain all that he could remember about the incident.

"He's asleep in bed" he replied "What happened?"
Leiard looked down at Carlos, concern filled his eyes.

Looking up at the older male, Carlos decided it was safe to ask; "Where is Skye?"

The older man managed to keep a smirk from appearing on his face as he made his way towards a new house he'd bought recently.

As he walked next to the dark hair adult, he couldn't help but smile as he thought he was now safe.

"Now come on, lets get you sorted out" he said as he lead Carlos away.

Smiling weakly at the adullt, he began to think that this man couldn't have been responsible for everything.

Leiard smiled warmly and helped Carlos down.

The sound of his friends name made Carlos begin to think. Maybe it wasn't Leiard who had knocked him. Deciding to give him one more chance, he nodded slowly.

The man clicked his neck, clearly getting agitatted.
"Now don't be stupid" he said half snarling "Skye's already with me, we're waiting for you"

Fear began to take over as he started to shake and stutter.
"I'm n-not m-m-moving..."

Leiard managed to keep his cool.
"Come on now, don't be silly"

Carlos shook his head nervously and attempted to back away from the dark haired male.

"Come on, I'll sort you out myself" Leiard said as he reached the ambulance.

Letting out a sigh, the darked haired boy glanced over at the adult that he thought he could trust.
