Jurassic Hijinks

"Lieying won't get you very far, now come on, what's wrong"

"Hmm?" He glanced up at the older male, he forced a smile. "Nah. I'm fine."

"Is something wrong?" The brunette asked, clearly concerned by Carlos' change in behaviour.

The dark haired male sat still silently, his eyes fixed on the ground.

Kyle raised an eyebrow before walking into the medics room and forcing Carlos to sit down.

"Well... The most important thing is health, so..." Carlos trailed off, having no idea what kind of a point he was trying to make.

After a while the two arrived at a make-shift building that must've been made out of rubble from the old city.
"It's the best we can do at the moment, plus it's better than nothing" Kyle shrugged as the two walked into it.

Carlos nodded reluctantly and began to follow Kyle, unsure of what his reaction will be when he finds out he didn;t hit his head at all.

"Come on, I'll take you to the medic" Kyle said to Carlos as Skye ran off after his brother.

Carlos smiled back and ruffled the red head's hair gently before raising himself back to full height.

Skye blinked and then smiled up at Carlos.

"Oh..." Carlos said as he glanced up at Kyle. Looking back at Skye, he still smiled. "It just means you're kinder and people will trust you more."

He tilted his head and asked Carlos what responsible meant.
"Oh... umm... he's never had any form of schooling" Kyle explained "You see... he was born after we moved here... so... well... he's never known violence or city life.."

"Good. You're the more responsible one." He said, trying to reassure the red head.

"... is that bad or good?" He asked nervously. Skye was clearly a little scared by the new person.

Carlos' blue eyes looked down at the red head, and he smiled. Kneeling down in front of the red head, Carlos decided it would be nicer to be... Well... Nice for once. "You haven't done anything wrong. Your dad was just comparing your personality to your brothers." He said with a warm smile.

"This is no different to normal, trust me" Kyle said with a grin "Leiard's been like that for as long as I can remember.. unlike Skye"
Hearing his name the young red head automatically assumed he'd done something wrong and paniced.
"W-what did I do...?"

"Bloody prat..." Carlos mumbled as he rubbed his leg before lowering it back down. He glanced back at Kyle with a slight smile. "Sorry if I make things a little awkward."

Leiard smirked nastily and walked off, leaving a very scared Skye on his own with his dad and Carlos.

Gritting his teeth, Carlos clutched his leg and glared at Leiard though he completely ignored Kyle.

Leiard growled angrily and kicked Carlos in the shins. Arya glared at her son before sighing.
"Men.. they never grow up. I'm surrounded by idiots..." She walked off back to wherever she'd come from.
Kyle laughed nervously "She's always like that, you'll get used to her.

"I wouldn't pay attention to a teenager anyway." He said with a slight grin.

Her stern expression softened as she shook Carlos' hand.
"It's nice to meet you too... ignore my eldest.. he's a bit.. protective" she smiled slightly

Carlos smiled at Arya and held out a hand to greet her (though he was unsure of how to greet a married woman). "Nice to meet you."

Catching Carlos' facial expression from the corner of his eye Kyle realised he hadn't yet explained who she was.
"Sorry" He smiled nervously as he rubbed the back of his head "This is my wife Arya"
