Jurassic Hijinks

Unlike Skye, Carlos had already lost his temper. Though he was unwilling to let it loose in front of his parents, instead, he stalked away up to his room his eyes still staring at the ground.

Vincent merely shook his head. "I always give him chances, and he never changes."

"Look.. please.. go easy on him. Unless you give him a chance to change again you'll never know.. being cruel and making him feel worse than he clearly already does won't help will it?" Skye was slowly loosing his temper with Vincent.

Vincent merely snorted at this. "He's said that before and he didn't change at all." He grumbled and let out a sigh. "Why can't you just be more like your brother?" Vincent asked his son. Carlos glanced up at his brown haired father before looking away and noticing a picture of his brother in a photo frame. "He's got a decent job and a family. You can't even keep a job for a month."

Skye rubbed his head.
"Just... go easy on him... he's promised me he'll sober up..."

Carlos dare not look at his parents as he entered the room, instead he stared at his mud covered converse silently. His father sat with his legs crossed in a chair on the far side of the room, whilst his mother sat on a small sofa with a blanket around her shoulders. "What's he been doing this time?" Vincent asked, a hint of anger in his tone of voice.

Skye lead Carlos back into his house and into the front room.

He let out a sigh. Everything in the future was different; he was unemployed, single and a stoned alcoholic. Things couldn't really get any worse...

Smiling slightly Skye put an arm around Carlos.
"Come on, let's break the news to your parents ok? Maybe if you sober up you'll get the job back at the school or something, I don't know..."

The older male stayed silent and merely nodded. In his mind he was brooding over the fact that not only had his wife died, but he was also a pain for his entire family.

"Just promise me... promise me you'll try to sober up ok? Please?"

Just the thought that Carlos was making his mother slowly go insane was enough to make Carlos feel guilty, sighing, he stared at the ground. "Sorry..." He muttered.

"Damnit Carlos.. You're either drunk or stoned, I havn't seen you sober since Becki died.... You're starting to worry everyone.... your mum I think is on the verge of a mental break down...."

Carlos didn't quite understand why he was being treated like such a child despite the fact that he was older than the red head. "Why would they be harsh on me?" He asked, clearly bemused.

Skye's eyes were filled with sympathy for the older man.
"Come on... I'll try and talk your mum and dad into not being so harsh on you" he smiled weakly.

Sighing shakily, he glanced at the red head in front of him. There was no doubt about it; this future sucked and it was all his fault.

Skye now felt awful.
"I'm sorry Carlos...."

Despite what Skye had said, Carlos was still in denial. He began to shake his head and run his fingers through his hair. "N-no... She can't be..."

"Carlos... she died over a year ago..." Skye hated having to tell this to Carlos almost repeatedly.

At first an overwhelming sense of anger coursed through Carlos' body at being called a drug addict, but this was soon washed away by pure disbelief. His wife. Dead. "No... Becki can't be dead..." He muttered in denial, unaware of how weird he sounded; as if he'd forgotten everything that had happened to him.

"Well it is, ok? Magic doesn't existed, it's the drugs you keep taking that're making these ideas pop into your head. You need to step back into the real world. I know it's been hard on you since Becki died.. but... still... trying to fool yourself won't help matters"

"It's not impossible, okay?!" Carlos growled. This new Skye actually reminded Carlos of himself has a young teenager; unwilling to believe that anything super natural could exist or occur.

Skye raised an eyebrow.
"Pardon? I'm sorry but.. umm.. that's kinda.. impossible..."

Sighing deeply, Carlos put his hand on the red heads shoulder "Sorry to hear about that. But... I met him in the past, as in... Ages ago. I explained to him about what he was like in the future so he decided to change the past which obviously changed the future which is why I'm so confused."

"He was a close friend of my dads, a few years ago... he... he shot himself...."

Carlos raised an eyebrow, slightly concerned due to the reaction. "What happened to him?"
